Airline tickets

With the pace of life accelerating, airplanes are becoming one of the most important means of transportation. Nearly 3 billion people travel by plane each year, and the number of passengers is constantly increasing, especially in developing countries.

Most passengers travel by plane for leisure or business purposes. There are regular flights and charter flights organized by holiday and travel operators to holiday destinations. In recent years, low-cost airlines have become increasingly popular, flying shorter distances and offering tickets at affordable prices.

Below are some tips to help you prepare for your flight.

  • Make sure you arrive at the airport early enough to complete all the necessary formalities.
  • As a rule, you should be at the airport 90–120 minutes before your flight departure.
  • Upon arrival at the airport, you must first check in for your flight, which usually begins up to two hours before departure.
  • When checking in for your flight, have your boarding pass and valid ID ready.
  • Upon check-in, you will receive a boarding pass, which you will use to board the plane.
  • When you check in, you hand over your luggage, which is first weighed. If your flight includes a transfer, your luggage will normally be automatically transferred to the appropriate aircraft at the transfer airport, but we advise you to check this with the check-in staff.
  • Some airports allow you to check in for your flight online.
  • To avoid crowds when checking in for your flight, we recommend that you check in via the website of your departure airport or airline.
  • You can check in online for flights operated by regular carriers, but it is not possible to check in for flights operated by charter and low-cost carriers.
  • Online check-in is available from 24 hours to one hour before departure.
  • Print your boarding pass before arriving at the airport.

Bags are also available at the airport at the check-in counters.
  • Remove all metal items and place them in the designated box – belts, money, keys, large metal jewelry, watches, etc.
  • Sharp and pointed objects in hand luggage will be confiscated, so it is recommended that you store them in your checked luggage.
  • Shoes with metal parts in the soles may trigger the alarm, so it is recommended to take them off before passing through the detector – place them in the designated container so that they can be X-rayed.
  • Passengers with pacemakers must inform staff of this before screening.
  • Keep the number of electronic and electrical devices to a minimum, as it takes longer to inspect these devices.
  • Do not place food or drinks in your security-checked baggage, as they may be detected by the detector as suspicious objects.
  • Do not wrap gifts or packages, as you may have to unwrap them for security screening.
  • Keep valuable items such as jewelry, cash, and laptops in your carry-on luggage.
  • The exit number and boarding time are indicated on the entry ticket.
  • make sure you arrive at the exit early enough

  • When booking your flight ticket, you can order a special meal (vegetarian, fruit, low-calorie, etc.).
  • It is not permitted to consume alcoholic beverages that you have brought with you on the aircraft.
  • Due to its lower specific weight, alcohol acts faster on the body in the air than on the ground.
  • For safety reasons, certain electronic devices (mobile phones, CD players, personal computers, etc.) may not be used during the flight.
  • During the year, exercise (walking, etc.) is recommended to reduce the possibility of blood clots forming.
  • Landing is followed by passport control or personal document checks.
  • After completing border formalities, proceed to Baggage Claim, where you will collect your luggage.
  • After collecting your luggage, you will undergo customs inspection if you are traveling to countries outside the Schengen area.
  • When traveling by plane, there are two types of luggage: carry-on luggage, which passengers take with them on the plane, and checked luggage, which they check in when checking in for their flight.
  • Adults and children over two years of age may carry 1 piece of baggage with maximum dimensions of 158 cm and weighing 23 kg on regular flights in economy class. in business class, 2 pieces with maximum dimensions of 158 cm and weighing 23 kg, and on regular charter flights, 1 piece with maximum dimensions of 158 cm and weighing 23 kg.
  • The carrier charges for each kilogram of baggage above the permitted weight. The price of each kilogram of excess baggage depends on where the passenger is traveling.
  • Excess baggage is baggage that exceeds the prescribed limit or the number of pieces of checked and carry-on baggage that exceeds the free baggage allowance. The latter also includes: skiing or golf equipment, pets, bicycles, surfboards, large or fragile baggage transported on an extra seat or seats in the passenger cabin, and other cases of special baggage transport. Excess baggage is subject to additional charges.
  • The amount of hand luggage varies from carrier to carrier. In principle, you can take one piece of luggage weighing 7–12 kg onto the plane.
  • Hand luggage must be small enough to fit under the seat or in the overhead compartment above the seat.
  • Larger items of hand luggage must be checked in before boarding the aircraft and collected immediately after disembarking.
  • Keep valuables and money, cameras, phones, medicines, important documents, essential personal items, personal computers, etc. in your hand luggage.
  • In addition, you may also bring a coat, umbrella, crutches, binoculars, a reasonable amount of books and magazines, a basket or folding stroller for a baby, and a reasonable amount of food for a baby into the cabin.
  • You may only carry small quantities of liquids in your hand luggage, which must be stored in individual containers with a maximum capacity of 100 milliliters. These containers must be placed in a transparent plastic bag that can be resealed and has a capacity of no more than one liter (per person).
  • Keep some warm clothes in your hand luggage, as it can get cold on the plane due to powerful air conditioning, as well as any essential medication (recommended in case your luggage is lost). It is often a good idea to carry a doctor's note with your medication, clearly stating what it is for and who it is intended for.
  • Checked baggage is handed over when checking in for the flight.
  • Clearly mark your checked baggage with your first and last name, address, and telephone number.
  • mark both the outside and inside of each piece of luggage
  • Remove all old labels from previous trips or information about the person who may be the owner of the luggage.
  • Do not pack fragile or breakable items in your checked baggage, or protect them well.
  • if possible, remove all straps or other obstacles from your luggage that could get stuck or damaged during transport on the conveyor belt (this applies in particular to backpacks), or tie them up properly or otherwise secure them against damage;
  • lock your luggage
  • valuables such as money, computers, cameras, mobile phones, jewelry, as well as medicines, important business documents, keys, and the like, should be taken with you or stored in your hand luggage, as delayed baggage can cause additional inconvenience. In addition, the carrier is not liable for these items in the event of delay or loss if they are in checked baggage.

Luggage of special dimensions will also be gladly accepted on board, provided that the dimensions of the luggage compartment on the specific type of aircraft allow this.

When booking your flight ticket, please inform us that you will be traveling with special sports equipment or special luggage. A special request must be submitted to the carrier, specifying the dimensions (width, height, length) and weight of the special luggage.

If your request is approved and confirmed for transport, you must take appropriate care to pack and protect your luggage from damage.

In case of transporting sports equipment of greater value, we advise you to take out additional insurance.

For easier classification, sports equipment is divided into 3 categories according to weight and size: small, medium, or large.

  • Small sports equipment is included among free checked baggage (FBA – free baggage allowance) and you will only be charged if it deviates from the agreed rules.
  • For medium and large sports equipment carriers charge excess baggage at a special price.

Your pets can also travel with you on the plane. The conditions of carriage for pets vary between airlines. Please consult the airline before purchasing your ticket.

  • Notify the airline in advance, as most airlines have a limit on the number of animals they can transport on a single flight.
  • Before traveling, you must take your pet to the vet for a check-up. The vet will issue the necessary documents for your pet, depending on the country of destination, most often a vaccination booklet or pet passport for countries within the European Union.
  • Do not feed your pet at least six hours before the flight – fresh water will suffice. Various sedatives are not recommended, but if you do decide to use them, be sure to consult your veterinarian.
